I have been dying to do this post for a very long time now. I really like to try out everything before writing a fair review about a product.
Urban Decay makes the best eyeshadows, hands down. Anyone who disagrees, can go buy expensive individual mac eyeshadows, thankyou:p
Naked 3 is my new found love! I ordered this online from the amazing facebook page Rouge for rs.6500/- . I just love Nida! Please find the page link at the end of this post:) The moment I saw its swatches, I was in love! A palette with everything pink, brown and sparkly? I just wanted to have this in my life, right there and then. The packaging, the colors, everything is just love!
Lets start with the review of my new UD baby.
Rose Gold color packaging....seriously? Who wouldn't want this in their makeup collection? I know a lot of people who don't like this palette, but for me, I love rose golds, pinks, golden and everything nice, so this was definitely for me. I don't love my Naked 1 as much as I love this. I didn't like Naked 2 from the swatches, the colors looked blah to me, but everyone have their preferences when it comes to colors and how they want to use it to create different looks. I'm not someone who experiments a lot so something simple and pretty is all I need.
As you can see it has a rose gold, wave like metal packaging. It is however difficult to open this palette as compared to the old Naked 1, which is cardboard.
Lets start from the left with the colors, their pigmentation, texture and staying power
Strange is described as a pale neutral pink matte satin. Honestly, its nothing like that, its not much pigmented and doesn't show up on me. I use it on my brow bone where I usually apply a bit of my concealer to clean my eyebrows. its matte, very pale, less pigmentation. A useless shade for me, really.
Dust is described as a pale metallic pink shimmer with iridescent micro glitter. This color is true to its definition. It looks great when applied to the inner corners of the eyes or even on the lids. Its pale metallic pink with lots shimmer, you can actually feel the shimmer on your fingers, so this is a little powdery but the pigmentation for this is amazing. Can work great as a face highlighter too, just don't apply too much!
Burnout is described as a light pink peach satin. My most favorite shade from the palette. The color pay off and the texture is really good. You can call this a rose gold color. Love this on my eye lid, haven't applied any other color on the eye lid from this palette yet.
Limit is described as a light dusty rose matte. Yes, its a transition color, love this! This is my new go to transition color which I apply with a blending brush to blend everything. My third transition color love after the shades naked and buff from the original naked 1. The texture is very soft and not at all powdery.
Buzz is described as metallic rose shimmer with silver micro glitter. This is a rosy shade with lots of glitter and frosted metallic sheen in it. The color pay off and the texture is really smooth, and you don't feel the chunky glitter during application in this one.
Trick is described as a light pinky copper shimmer with tonal micro glitter. This may look like a copper gold, but has brown touch to it. Can be used as a golden eyeshadow, but I would say its more of a copper shade with lots of golden glitter in it. It is brown toned and the application and texture is amazing. Again, no complains in the color pay off department and not at all powdery.
Nooner is described as a medium pinky brown matte. This is a great crease color. Its a pinky brown matte shade, nothing too dark and can be easily used in the crease and even as a blending color. I found this little hard to build up as compared to the other shimmery colors in the palette. Other than that, the texture is great and its not powdery for a matte shade.
Liar is described as a medium metallic mauve shimmer. This one is a medium brown with a frosty metallic sheen to it. the texture is great and no complains in the color pay off department, it however can get a little powdery and hard to pick up.
Factory is described as a pinky brown satin. Its way darker to be just called a pinky brown I think. Its a darker shade and has a satin finish. I didn't find it powdery. the texture is great and the pigmentation was just amazing.
Mugshot is described as a Metallic taupe shimmer with slight pink shift. It a beautiful dark metallic taupe shade. I had no problems with the darker shades in this palette. Its texture is great, pigmentation was amazing and was not powdery. This can be used easily on the outer corner of the eye with a shimmery light color on the eye lid.
Darkside is described as a deep taupe mauve satin. Yes, this shade looks like a mixture of taupe and mauve and since its a satin finish, it makes it easy to apply . Its one of the darker shades from the palette. I love this for applying to the outer corners again. will try the darker shades on the eye lid when I'm ready to try something dramatic. Love this shade!!
Blackheart is described as a smokey black matte with rosy red micro sparkle. Since this palette is all about hues of pinks, browns and lots of sparkle, how can you expect a matte black, eh? Its a black with lots of red micro sparkles in it. Its a beautiful shade if you want to go all dramatic on the eye makeup with this shade directly on the eye lid. Its texture and pigmentation both are great.
