Dove's "Patches" Campaign-Beauty Is A State Of Mind

Let's talk about a video which went viral after its release, it's the new Dove Patches Campaign video, which proves how beauty is what you feel inside. Beauty is a state of mind, and it's all in the head, my sweet hearts.
I don't know how many of you have seen their videos, but Dove videos and their campaigns give a whole new and different aspect of beauty, which I love. They talk about the normal everyday women, no celebrities and beauty queens. Their ads and campaigns all convey a message about how beauty is simplicity and what we feel inside is how it reflects outside on our personalities. This video does just the same.

I have always been a fan of Dove Campaigns and how they are for Real Beauty and are promoted on the television in the same way.
Recently their new Campaign launched, which is called the "Patches" - it promotes inner beauty in a very sensitive and touching manner. It includes real women, with all their flaws and insecurities, taking part in an experiment where a Beauty Patch is applied on their arms to help improve how they perceive their own beauty. This research was conducted by Dr. Ann Kearney-Cooke who is a Psychologist and Body image expert. It was shown how these women became confident and realized their inner strengths during the time the beauty patch was attached to them. Their journey through this video has been captured in a really beautiful manner. This beauty patch helped them deal with their insecurities in a way they did not expect. They started feeling stronger emotionally day by day, became more confident in their everyday lives. Some also started feeling confident in their own skin without any makeup products on. In the end when they return back to Dr. Ann after two weeks to express their feelings about the beauty patch which has altered their lives, they were shocked to see how there were no ingredients in the patch and it was all psychological. How they became more confident about their beauty- inside and out. How a lot of them managed to get out of their houses without feeling bad about themselves and it improved their self esteem. Their anxiety was reduced and insecurities were all gone. These women looked way prettier than they looked at the start of the video.

Dove Campaigns have always been talked about, whether its about all the praise they receive or about how they make us see beauty within ourselves. I believe Dove is one brand that talks beauty in a very simple yet bold manner. It screams beauty to the level where you want to understand that the best part of beauty is something which no picture can express. A woman can feel and be what she wants if only she truly believes in herself. True beauty starts from within.

Dove Patches Launch Event took place simultaneously in 66 countries including Pakistan, where the event was organised at Verde- Exclusive Bistro Cafe, Karachi. A lot of famous beauty bloggers and personalities were invited to attend the event.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette-Review and Swatches

I have been dying to do this post for a very long time now. I really like to try out everything before writing a fair review about a product.
Urban Decay makes the best eyeshadows, hands down. Anyone who disagrees, can go buy expensive individual mac eyeshadows, thankyou:p
Naked 3 is my new found love! I ordered this online from the amazing facebook page Rouge for rs.6500/- . I just love Nida! Please find the page link at the end of this post:) The moment I saw its swatches, I was in love! A palette with everything pink, brown and sparkly? I just wanted to have this in my life, right there and then. The packaging, the colors, everything is just love!
Lets start with the review of my new UD baby.

Rose Gold color packaging....seriously? Who wouldn't want this in their makeup collection? I know a lot of people who don't like this palette, but for me, I love rose golds, pinks, golden and everything nice, so this was definitely for me. I don't love my Naked 1 as much as I love this. I didn't like Naked 2 from the swatches, the colors looked blah to me, but everyone have their preferences when it comes to colors and how they want to use it to create different looks. I'm not someone who experiments a lot so something simple and pretty is all I need.

As you can see it has a rose gold, wave like metal packaging. It is however difficult to open this palette as compared to the old Naked 1, which is cardboard.
Lets start from the left with the colors, their pigmentation, texture and staying power
Strange is described as a pale neutral pink matte satin. Honestly, its nothing like that, its not much pigmented and doesn't show up on me. I use it on my brow bone where I usually apply a bit of my concealer to clean my eyebrows. its matte, very pale, less pigmentation. A useless shade for me, really.
Dust is described as a pale metallic pink shimmer with iridescent micro glitter. This color is true to its definition. It looks great when applied to the inner corners of the eyes or even on the lids. Its pale metallic pink with lots shimmer, you can actually feel the shimmer on your fingers, so this is a little powdery but the pigmentation for this is amazing. Can work great as a face highlighter too, just don't apply too much!
Burnout is described as a light pink peach satin. My most favorite shade from the palette. The color pay off and the texture is really good. You can call this a rose gold color. Love this on my eye lid, haven't applied any other color on the eye lid from this palette yet.
Limit is described as a light dusty rose matte. Yes, its a transition color, love this! This is my new go to transition color which I apply with a blending brush to blend everything. My third transition color love after the shades naked and buff from the original naked 1. The texture is very soft and not at all powdery.
Buzz is described as metallic rose shimmer with silver micro glitter. This is a rosy shade with lots of glitter and frosted metallic sheen in it. The color pay off and the texture is really smooth, and you don't feel the chunky glitter during application in this one.
Trick is described as a light pinky copper shimmer with tonal micro glitter. This may look like a copper gold, but has brown touch to it. Can be used as a golden eyeshadow, but I would say its more of a copper shade with lots of golden glitter in it. It is brown toned and the application and texture is amazing. Again, no complains in the color pay off department and not at all powdery.
Nooner is described as a medium pinky brown matte. This is a great crease color. Its a pinky brown matte shade, nothing too dark and can be easily used in the crease and even as a blending color. I found this little hard to build up as compared to the other shimmery colors in the palette. Other than that, the texture is great and its not powdery for a matte shade.
Liar is described as a medium metallic mauve shimmer. This one is a medium brown with a frosty metallic sheen to it. the texture is great and no complains in the color pay off department, it however can get a little powdery and hard to pick up.
Factory is described as a pinky brown satin. Its way darker to be just called a pinky brown I think. Its a darker shade and has a satin finish. I didn't find it powdery. the texture is great and the pigmentation was just amazing.
Mugshot is described as a Metallic taupe shimmer with slight pink shift. It a beautiful dark metallic taupe shade. I had no problems with the darker shades in this palette. Its texture is great, pigmentation was amazing and was not powdery. This can be used easily on the outer corner of the eye with a shimmery light color on the eye lid.
Darkside is described as a deep taupe mauve satin. Yes, this shade looks like a mixture of taupe and mauve and since its a satin finish, it makes it easy to apply . Its one of the darker shades from the palette. I love this for applying to the outer corners again. will try the darker shades on the eye lid when I'm ready to try something dramatic. Love this shade!!
Blackheart is described as a smokey black matte with rosy red micro sparkle. Since this palette is all about hues of pinks, browns and lots of sparkle, how can you expect a matte black, eh? Its a black with lots of red micro sparkles in it. Its a beautiful shade if you want to go all dramatic on the eye makeup with this shade directly on the eye lid. Its texture and pigmentation both are great.

Small Haul and NOTD!

I went with my mom to get some medicines, and ended up buying some Medora and this Christine nail polish. They are very cheap and the nail colors are so amazing.
Here are the things I got. :)

These three nail paints.
Christine : baby blue nail polish #235, rs.165
Medora: Coral nail polish #330, rs.110
I lost this coral nail paint last year so I had to go get this for summer!
Medora Top Coat, rs.110

Kojic acid cream: I have been wanting to try this for so long ! I have very bad hyper-pigmentation especially around my lower face, chin and neck area, Really needed this! hope this really helps!

Medora lipstck in Glossy 25: it is a lovely glossy pink shade, but I didn't like the formula after I applied it on my lips. I wasn't expecting a lot since it was only for rs.110. Swatches are below.

and finally my nails of the day is Christine blue baby with Medora Top coat, here is a picture.

Hope you liked this! xx
