Color Studio Professional-New Products, Reviews & Swatches

Color Studio Professional arranged an amazing meet up for all the beauty bloggers at Cafe 44 for their new Kohl Addict blackest black pencil launch, along with some other products which were given to us for testing and reviewing.
The meet up was so well organised, the hostesses were very welcoming and gave us some great information about Color Studio brand and products.

We were given the following products to test and review:

Kohl Addict pencil eyeliner
Hypno Eyes Felt tip eyeliner
Eye Stylist brush liquid eyeliner
Obsession Voluptous Volume mascara
Hypnotic Curve and Volume mascara

Let's start with the pattern I applied my makeup in. I used different liquid eyeliners on both my upper lash lines because I wanted to try out both at the same time and see what difference of application I find. I have never used a felt tip eyeliner. I found Hypno eyes felt tip eyeliner easier to apply since I got the wing easily with it. But the downfall was that it wasn't dark enough to fill up all the space in between and left spaces ( air spaces ) if that makes sense. So I'd say if you're ready to use two eyeliners, then this felt tip could work great for the wing, but not for filling the top lash line. On the other hand when I applied the Eye stylist liquid eyeliner, it was so smooth and perfect, just that I'm bad at making wings with liquid eyeliners. Other than that I knew Eye stylist was my winner when it came to smoothness, pigmentation and ease of application. It is a thin brush so you can't go wrong with it.

Then I applied the Kohl Addict eyeliner pencil on my lower lashline. It is probably the blackest pencil I have in my collection apart from Avon shock gel eyeliner pencil and the UD pencils. This pencil is super smooth to apply, I use this for both upper and lower lash line, it is also super easy to wing out with pencils for daytime looks. Here I only applied it on my lower lashline. It glided on smoothly, it is super pigmented, applying it once is enough you can see its intensity and pigmentation in the lower lash.

Next I used two different mascaras on both my eyes. I applied Obsession Voluptous mascara on my left eye and Hypnotic curve and volume mascara on my right eyelashes. I found the Obsession Voluptous mascara quite drying, it didn't do much except lengthening my eyelashes a bit, even after three applications I couldn't see much difference or the wow effect I usually expect from mascaras. Next I applied Hypnotic on my right eyelashes, it has a curvy bulge on one side of the wand, which I found quite irritating, but when I applied the mascara I quite liked its result, it opened up my eyes immediately, gave enough volume and lengthening in one swipe. I applied it three times and my eyelashes looked better with every swipe.

Oh, and I've used Naked 1 on the eyes and Nyx milk jumbo pencil for the waterline :)

I'm really impressed by Color Studio products and the changing scene of makeup brands in Pakistan.

Maybelline New York Millenial Fashion Show 2014

Maybelline New York Millenial Fashion Show 2014 took place at Indus Valley School of Arts and Architecture, Karachi. This event was especially organised to promote young talent in Pakistan fashion industry, as six new designers were introduced and the winner will get a chance to showcase their collection with the old fashion pioneers in the Fashion Pakistan Week Spring/Summer 2015. I was so excited to attend a fashion show for the first time and to see all the models do what they do best. I reached there in a hurry wearing my Ruby Shakel Outfit, my Dior tribal earrings and my Chanel bottle clutch, since this event was something to flatter all that you have ;) The show started off with Raana Khan's introduction as the official makeup artist for the event, where she discussed different looks she did on the models depending on the collections by each designer.
First designer to showcase was Aalish Mansoor, his collection was called the "Royal Soccer". I'm not sure if I should start with my least favorite designer from that night, but his collection lacked everything that I was expecting. He explained onscreen how his collection was inspired by royal arts and soccer ball. He played with a lot of silhouettes, prints, blacks and whites. Areej was seen wearing a beautiful draped saari which was the only design I liked.

Second to showcase was Nitasha Yaqub, she showcased her collection called the "Vanishing Culture" inspired by Anglo Indians of the subcontinent. Yes, it was something to look forward to. I loved the detailing which was given to hair accessories, pearl jewelry and the beautiful umbrella which Rabhya Chaudhry carried with her. The dresses were all similar, but the impact of the showcase was great. The only color she played with was cream, it was all thick cottons with laces and floral print detailing.

Third in line to showcase was Sameer Sain, with his Denim Collection which was exclusively for men. He used denim in different ways and styles, just too much denim on the ramp made it a little boring, even for the men. I'm sorry, definitely not something I would want any man to go for. The designs were something that would only work for the ramp, I didn't see much creativity, except for the lovely bronze faces of our handsome male models. The only design that caught my eye was the first model to walk the ramp, with white shoes, jeans shorts with a touch of white to it and jeans shirt with a white blazer on top. The rest of the designs kept trying.

Then came Abel Emmanuel with his collection called "Scarlet Night". This collection was something I genuinely liked, something that showed potential. The first walk on the ramp with little dress with a tail, lots silhouettes and that hair accessory was something that took my heart away. He played with reds, blacks and whites, sequins and silhouettes (not all at the right places) ,  All his collection needed was a little more direction.

Just when I thought Abel Emmanuel was my winner of the night, there came Madiha Raza with the collection nobody was expecting from a night where none were good. Her collection was inspired by topical birds called the "Flight of Birds". A lot of time and effort was put into this. I loved the detailing of colors, feathers, not only on clothes, but the immense amount of work done by her on the handbags and the shoes. I was amazed when her show started with the entrance of Hira Tareen in that unique off white dress. She played well with the leather cuts and laces mixed. The effort and the originality counted the most.

The show definitely ended with the best designer of the night! xx

L'oreal White Perfect Total 10 Whitening Day Cream- Review

Finally writing my review on this lovely product which promises solutions to 10 skin problems. I was sent a sample of the L'oreal White Perfect day cream for review purposes. I have been using this for over two months now and I think this is the perfect time to write my review on this.

I can't believe my face was on the official L'oreal Pakistan page along with my other beautiful bloggers. We were asked to talk about our skin problems and solutions.

Look at all the pretty bloggers. Picture taken from the Official L'oreal Pakistan facebook page.

Honestly, L'oreal face products have never suited my skin since I have super sensitive dry skin and most of their products are scented. This face cream however gave me no such issues.
It is extremely mild on the face, doesn't feel like you are wearing anything at all. Most of the other brands I've used, their face creams feel heavy on the skin, especially the weather we have to deal with everyday, I can't risk anything heavy on the face, it only means more sweating followed by pimples.
This products has spf 30, which makes it better than so many other face creams. I don't have to worry about putting a separate sunscreen and then a face moisturizer now. It hasn't broken me out, I have been using this since two months now. It doesn't give my skin that instant glow though, but it has done a lot for me in the long run. I have seen my skin getting better, my dark spots are almost gone except the ones I pick now and then.
My main problem has always been brown discoloration, especially when it comes to premature aging, I don't like to take any risk with the amount of spf I put on my face. Who wants wrinkles in early 20's? Please girls never step out of the house without wearing sunscreen.

It is mildly scented, and has thin lotion consistency. but it isn't runny. The packaging is very secure and is very easy to carry around. The cream looks white in the picture, but it is actually a very light lilac shade.

According to L'oreal this product protects skin against 10 problems, lets see which one of these has it saved me from.
1- Instant glow: I would say no, it doesn't give me an instant glow, but it does make my skin look even. There are times when I can rush out of the house without my holy grail bodyshop all in face base on and only wear this.
2-Fairer skin: Definitely a yes. I have seen my skin improve over the last couple of months. It has helped me get rid of the tan.
3-Even tone: Yes. I don't see alot of dark spots on my face anymore. It looks bright and fresh even without makeup on.
4-Anti-dark spots: Need I say more? this is an obvious Yes.
5-Anti-shine effect: Yes. This cream doesn't dry me out neither does it make me sweaty or shiny throughout the day. It has the perfect lotion consistency, without being too runny or thick.
6-Anti-pollution: It clearly keeps my skin protected. My university is open and there is sun and pollution everywhere around that area. This has helped me through so much.
7-Anti-UVA: dull skin, premature aging and dark spots are mostly caused by UVA rays. It saves me from this.
8-Anti-UVB: Yes, my skin hasn't tanned since I've started using this.
9-Anti-oxidation: definitely a protectant against both extrinsic and intrinsic oxidation processes.
10-Anti-oilness effect: Again, this cream isn't oily at all. It dries and absorbs very easily and keeps my skin matte.

Pros:
Protects against important things.
Not very heavy on the pocket
Consistency is good for both dry and oily skin types
Doesn't leave smear or powdery finish after applying.
Can be used both as a sunscreen and moisturizer for oily skin.
it has SPF 30.

Cons:
It is mildly scented.
Sensitive skin may get irritated
May not be enough as a moisturizer for dry skin types.
Some people may prefer thicker face creams during winters.

Price: Rs.1000/-

Hope you liked the post! xx

October Favorites! xx

Hi sweeties, since I won't be able to blog much this month because of my really hectic exam schedule, all I will be posting are favorites and haul posts, inshAllah. Let's just hope I'm able to do this, it was only a heads up, because I usually feel like the only blogger who doesn't blog much. Trust me it's my favorite thing to do! Writing posts is my only sweet time, when I feel like I'm talking to myself and things just flow. I feel so loved by PBBC especially because I almost completed a year and I don't even feel it! It's like I just started yesterday. Wow, time really flies!
Okay, so let's just get back to what this post was about :)
Here are my favorites from last month, hope you guys enjoy the pictures. I won't be writing little reviews on each like I usually do, because I have plans on writing proper reviews on each one of these favorite babies of mine.

The Balm "How 'Bout Them Apples?" palette. By far, my best purchase of this year. I love it that much! Especially the shade Crisp is my favorite, I've been wearing this almost everyday ever since I got it! Full review will be posted soon :)

Maybelline Fit me Foundation 105 and Concealer 15. My favorite foundation/concealer combo at the moment. I don't know why I never tried these before. They are just amazing. My makeup is not complete especially without the fit me concealer.

Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 in Mango. This lip balm is my SAVIOR! I have serious lip problems especially when the weather is changing and playing with our little hearts. And when nobody is there for me I always go to him (Kiehl's lip balm) for protection and love. I know he will always be there for me, no matter what :')
Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Lolita. Honestly when I bought this, I didn't know if it was authentic, I got it from a small shop, only because, well I'm the new lip balm hoarder. It looks so pretty on the lips ( pretty pink and all, you know) and yes, it does protect but not as much as what Kiehl's baby does for me.

The BodyShop eyebrow kit in 03. I got this by mistake in Uppsala, Sweden. I was in a hurry and my Bodyshop all in one base had finished so, I just went upto this mall close to my place and got this, thinking it was the All in one face base. Yes, I'm that stupid enough to not notice the size. The girl at the outlet also asked me if I have used this before and wanted to try, I said no, this is my shade thanks and just walked out. Impatience is bad. But in this case, I found something I can't live without anymore. It's the perfect shade for my brows, makes them look lush and thick. I've always used eyebrow pencils, this was my first time with a powder, and oh my my, how amazing and easy to use is this thing!

Benefit They're Real mascara. The only expensive mascara I love! Trust me I've tried so many from Dior to Lancome but have never found them to be better than drugstore ones. My favorite will always be Loreal Voluminous Ultra black/ Million lashes mascara. This Benefit mascara however does the job, it makes my lashes longer, thicker and I can apply it multiple times to get the result I want, it doesn't dry or smudge one bit.

Hope you guys liked this post! xx

Haul Post! xoxo

I haven't been posting alot of haul posts lately. Here is a nice big haul post for you all. Some of the makeup items are purchased from Sweden, Istanbul airport dutyfree, some from Rouge ( my favorite facebook page ), Stylista ( first ever purchase from this amazing accessories store online on fb ), Heel sandals from Stylo, Chanel perfume bag from Pink Bling and Mac Addict (fb page)
Enjoy the pictures and details are are written below each picture. :)

Got these sunglasses, set of these everyday wear tops and Moroccon Oil treatment (serum) from a small shop in Uppsala, Sweden. I love applying the Moroccon Oil on wet hair, only on the tips. it works great and smells even better.

Got the Chanel Blush in Pink Explosion from Istanbul airport. The other two products, How about them apples by the Balm(rs.3200) and Chanel Perfection Lumiere foundation in shade b10 (rs.6700) is by Rouge.

Got this Maybelline Fit me Foundation in 105, also fit me concealer in 115 ( not in the picture) These two products by Maybelline are my favorite drugstore purchases.
YSL Touche Eclat in shade 3, I was convinced I wanted to get shade 2, which was lighter and brighter for my undereye, but the guy at the counter was convinced that I should get warm color for my undereye so I got this. Honestly, I'd prefer a shade lighter.
Mac Pro longwear concealer in NC20, its a bad idea to apply this for undereye, but I have seen youtube gurus using it under their eyes and they look flawless, but in my case it only looks nice on the face and creases as an undereye concealer.
Mac lipstick in Ravishing: loveee this shade, if you want that peachy glowy look then trust me its incomplete without Ravishing on your lips.
I was very dehydrated during holidays so I stopped at Keihls to get their Lip Balm, it was a life saviour. And I got the Hand salve free :)

Chanel Perfume Clutch (very close to the original ) got this for rs.8000 from Pink Bling ( page on fb )

Nars Blush in Angelika(rs.3600), Nars lipgloss in Turkish delight(rs.3300) and Hope in a jar sample (gift) by Rouge. Mac lipstick in Angel by Mac Addict (fb page) for rs.2200

Chanel no.5 perfume from Istanbul airport for 77Euros

Light Peach block heel sandals from Stylo

Black heels from Stylo.

Stylista necklace for rs.1450. Picture taken from Stylista fb page.

I'm extremely sorry for not being able to write down the prices for every product in my haul post, but I will try to update you guys on what was their price in Swedish Kronor!
Hope you guys enjoyed the post! xx

Essei Spa Day! xx

The worst part about travelling is that it makes me forget about my blog, which by the way is very dear to me, but I have just not been able to blog lately.
I was invited along with my fellow bloggers by Lane 12's Nisha Masroor to attend the Essei Spa Day Event at the Mint Beauty Solutions Salon. Nisha was extremely sweet and I had a good dose of laughter and great conversation with her at the salon. When I entered Mint Beauty Solutions, it was love at first sight. The cleanliness is the first thing I notice when I enter into any salon, and the politeness of the staff. I was asked to go upstairs where other bloggers were already being pampered by their lovely Essei manicures and pedicures.

How cute are those cushions? ;)

They made sure I was comfortable and asked for chai/coffee etc. The girl asked me to select my Essie nail shades and helped me select two colors to go with my outfit. I'm really disappointed in myself for not remembering the names of the shades she applied to my hands and feet.

There were not only Essei nail polishes but also Essei scrubs, lotions and masks for the manicure and pedicure. The staff made sure that I was fully relaxed, the lovely owner of the Salon was also there to attend to our needs. The whole salon was decorated nicely and looked so pretty and chic.
They have fixed hand sanitizers everywhere in the salon, something that is not very common here in Karachi salons.

They were using disposable manicure and pedicure instruments which showed how careful they are about the hygiene. I have never seen any beauty salon using disposable buffers. The Essei products included their scrub, lotion, mask, cuticle oil, base top coat and the nail colors.
During the entire manicure and pedicure session the two girls made sure I was relaxed and comfortable at all time. My hands and feet were massaged so well, all I wanted was to sleep right there and then.

Amazing mani/pedi disposable gift by Mint Beauty Solutions

I know exactly where to go now for my mani/pedi and not worry about the hygeine.
I'm fully satisfied and happy with Mint Beauty Solutions Essei Mani/ Pedi. I will be going there soon for my Eid manicure and pedicure and highly recommend you all to do the same! :)
I would love to hear about your experience at this salon! xx
